Ah, yes, the secondary principle of evil, entropy. I'm not sure if the girls don't get the irony or if they do. Is skank an evil to be mocked or an aspiration to be eventually achieved by a trial run on Halloween? Or both?
I remember vaguely reading of an author who wrote on the presence of the Devil in everyday America. The author's most brilliant stroke: making his case within the banal context of the Johnny Carson show.
Anyway, this being suburban CA I guess, I had to laugh when I saw the expression on the face of a middle-aged Dad dressed as Merlin when he opened his door to a youngish Mommy dressed as a skanky sorceress.
Absurdity: it's the new right-and-wrong.
