The director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Leon E. Panetta, has told the House Intelligence Committee in closed-door testimony that the C.I.A. concealed “significant actions” from Congress from 2001 until late last monthDemocrats Say C.I.A. Deceived Congress for Years - NYTimes.com. According to a Fox news story from last month, Pelosi is so thoroughly despised by the American people for accusing the CIA of lying that she is now less popular than Dick Cheney.
The numbers are in and they couldn't be any clearer; Nancy Pelosi has officially become a political liability for Democrats running for reelection across the country. Whether she is accusing the CIA... or advocating for reckless economic policies, the fact is the San Francisco speaker is out of step with voters and dragging down her party." said Ken Spain, communications director for the National Republican Congressional Committee.Which just leads to the obvious conclusion that there are lies, damn lies, and then there are statistics since whatever one may think of Pelosi, who in their right mind would like Dick Cheney more than her? Who in their right mind would like Dick Cheney more than Satan? Speaking of lies and statistics, CNN released a poll that supposedly shows Obama's standing with the American people slipping by most measures.
Seventy-two percent of people questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. survey released Thursday believe Obama inspires confidence. That's down three percentage points from a CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll conducted in February. Seven out of 10 also said the president is a strong and decisive leader. However, that figure is down 10 percentage points from the opening days of Obama's presidency. Sixty-four percent said that Obama is tough enough to handle a crisis, down nine percentage points from February. It's only at the bottom of the article that we see that the poll was conducted by phone. Land lines. Do you even know anyone with a land line? And if so, are they under seventy? And if so, are they ever home to answer the phone? To make matters worse, CNN is saying that what the poll shows is that Obama "lacks toughness." This from CNN, who could not be beating the drum louder for more war since other than Michael Jackson's death, they have covered virtually nothing but Iran and how "something needs to be done." The lesson to be learned here is clear. The CIA lies. Statistics lie. Don't trust either one of them.
